| New Strategy for Thai Swiss Culinary education Center |
| After a testing period of two years, Thai-Swiss Culinary Education Center, will increase their marketing strategy to increase the seminars and apprentice-ship programs, to aim the increasing demand for qualified culinary professionals in Thailand and the south east Asian Market.
With the future offer of more specified training courses, they are hoping to challenge the youngsters to gain more knowledge and experiences ....
in the international standarts of Asian and Western cuisine.
The TAT (Thai Tourism Aouthority) has anaunced that the target for the arriving Tourists this year will increase to over 12 millions. With at least 6 new 4**** and 5 ***** Hotel opening in the next two years alone in Bangkok, the demand for qualified employes will be again on the rice still on the rise.

From the 1st - 5th September 2009, a new exiting culinary contest will take place in Bangkok at the Siam Paragon Mall right in the Center of the city.

| Why a training Center? |

It has been proved that Thai food has become increasingly popular throughout the world but that it is difficult to find the staff with the necessary professional skills and experience.
Because there is no official apprenticeship system in force in the country, most of the Thai cooks are acquiring their professional knowledge through practice in establishments.
A number of Thai cooks would be interested to attend professional courses but often do not even have the necessary money to live decently. Therefore, it is doubtful that they would be in a position to finance training.
The situation is, therefore, that on one side we have a general lack of training opportunities and on the other a number of interested people but who have a financial problem.
At present, only the Thai Culinary Consultant, in connection with the Thai Chefs Association is offering various courses for chefs.
A chosen circle of hotel & restaurant professionals from Thailand and Switzerland, most of them with extensive experience in training, has put some thought into this situation. They are interested to become involved in improving the quality of Thai staff working in the industry and are seeking to find suitable solutions.
Taking into consideration the actual, present situation, three ways for a possible solution could be taken into consideration:
a) Industry partners of the hotels and restaurant businesses grant an added value training voucher for each purchase of their products made by the establishments
These vouchers are given to the managers or to the head chefs who in turn will hand them over to chosen employees. This will then enable them to attend specific courses according to their profession and knowledge.
b) Hotels, hotel chains, or other establishments, which are interested to keep their staff on a long term, take over the costs for the training, whereby a trainee agrees to attend a course on his day off. The trainee also commits himself to remain with the employer who pays for the course for a certain period of time. This is defined before the deal is agreed and included in the contract of employment¦
